Abingdon Foodbank Centres
Abingdon Foodbank expands to have centres in both North and South Abingdon
We are part of Trussell Trust and have two Foodbank Centres in Abingdon. One serves the north and is in the grounds of Christ Church, Northcourt Road, the other serves the south and is accommodated at Preston Road Community Centre.
Our North Centre opened at Christ Church in 2009, and was the original foodbank venue, part of the church’s Christian outreach into the community.
The North Centre also serves as the central Warehouse for both Foodbank Centres.
To help meet the growing need for foodbank services, the South Centre was opened in 2018 at Preston Road Community Centre. The centre is organised by Abingdon Vineyard Church that meets at the Community Centre and forms part of the long established community outreach work of the church.
With the two centres we are able to offer our services three days a week:
- Tuesday & Friday at the North Foodbank Centre between 11pm and 1pm
- Wednesdays at the South Foodbank Centre between 1pm and 2:30pm.
